Ashtanga Yoga

Auyveda Yoga



Forms an alliance between two aspects of the Vedas. It identifies different constitutions (doshas) herbal remedies massage for cure and revitalization. As a bridge including asana pranayama and meditation.

Bikram Yoga



Founded in 1970 by Bikram Choudhury. Practiced in a heated room it is a demanding class of 26 posture series, each pose in a given order. Centering of attention and Pranayama allow this physical exertion be simultaneous with relaxation.

Iyengar Yoga



Yoga characterised by specific sequencing or techniques or alignment and excecution of postures (Asanas). To hold these for a precise length of time.

Kundalini Yoga



Yoga of awareness. This is a spiritual discipline which is consolidation of the highest physical and meditative techniques.

Karma Yoga



The active path suited to the active physically and mentally- who seek to eliminate the attachments of the ego to serve humanity without expectation of reward, and to see unity in diversity. The yogi is enabled to tune into the divine essence that dwells in all.

Jnana Yoga



The Philosophical Path - is an ancient philosophy of Vedanta. Regarded as the most difficult of the four. It demands a sharp mind and an unclouded intellect using two powerful intellectual techniques of Viveka (discrimination) and Vairaga (dispassion), the veils of illusion or Maya are lifted.

Bhakti Yoga



Devotional Path - suited to those who are of an emotional nature. It teaches techniques for their sublimation, chanting, prayer and the repetition of mantra (sacred formulae); emotional energy is channeled into devotion –pure love. The Bhakta aims to see this in all

Raja Yoga



Scientific path - All posses’ vast mental and psychic resources below the surface of the consciousness mind To release this potential; Raja Yoga prescribes a psychotical approach- based on concentration and control of mind. Right conduct, a healthy body and steady posture, breath regulation and withdrawal of the senses recommended to achieve this. mHatha yoga is a form of raja Yoga that emphasises Asanas postures and pranayama (breath control). It is important to state here Hatha Yoga and Raja Yoga is in the non dual unity tradition.
